The Capulin Volcano View House is a bunkhouse on Nathaniel's working cattle ranch in northeastern New Mexico — 35 miles west of Raton on Highway 64, just outside Des Moines. Capulin Volcano National Monument is visible from the property. This is the closest lodging to the crater rim.

The juniper plank ceiling was harvested on the ranch, hauled out of the woods, and milled locally. Everything here was built to last, by hand, by the person who owns it. Nathaniel is available by text throughout your stay.

This is a working cattle ranch in rural northeastern New Mexico. Expect bugs, dust, and tons of wildlife. The nearest grocery store is in Raton (35 miles) or Clayton. Stock up before you arrive. Cell service exists but isn't city-grade. This is exactly the point — if you wanted a hotel, you'd have booked a hotel. Nathaniel is available by text and respects guests who prefer seclusion.
