A working cattle ranch bunkhouse in the shadow of an ancient volcano. Dark skies, elk country, and the silence of the high plains.

About the Property
The Capulin Volcano View House is a bunkhouse on Nathaniel's working cattle ranch in northeastern New Mexico — 35 miles west of Raton on Highway 64, just outside Des Moines. Capulin Volcano National Monument is visible from the property. This is the closest lodging to the crater rim.
The juniper plank ceiling was harvested on the ranch, hauled out of the woods, and milled locally. Everything here was built to last, by hand, by the person who owns it. Nathaniel is available by text throughout your stay.
